Installation add-ons from Bai & Boey Furniture Set Up

Installation Add-Ons, Safety Checks and Cleanup

Assembly is only half the job. A room feels finished when the packaging is cleared, the furniture sits level and tall units are checked for safe anchoring.

A tidy finish matters.

  • Unboxing
  • Defect checks
  • Levelling
  • Safety anchoring
  • Packaging removal

A clearer room after assembly

Packaging Removal and Disposal

Cartons are flattened, plastic wrapping is bagged and the agreed packaging is taken out on the same visit. For a full-home job, we consolidate bulky material before moving it through shared corridors.

  • Packaging from the assembled items is gathered and kept together while we work.
  • Tell us before the appointment if you want original cartons kept for warranty, storage or resale.
  • Large or bulky waste may need a separate estate disposal arrangement. We will clarify this when quoting.

The hallway stays clear.

A record before the build

Product Checks: Defects and Missing Parts

We check the delivery count and sort the fittings against the supplied parts list before assembly starts. If something is damaged or missing, we record the issue so you can contact the retailer with clear details.

  1. Check the delivery. We compare the cartons with the delivery note before opening them.
  2. Sort the fittings. Screws, brackets and other parts are checked against the product instructions.
  3. Record visible problems. Damaged panels or faulty mechanisms are noted and photographed where practical.
  4. Agree the next step. If a missing part blocks the build, we complete other workable items and document what remains.

Record it before building.

Fine-tuned for daily use

Levelling and Adjustment for Everyday Use

Uneven floors and small fitting differences can affect how doors, drawers and sliders move. We check the assembled unit in place and adjust what the product allows.

Level the unit

We check that the furniture sits evenly on the floor.

Tip: recheck after moving heavy items nearby.

Set the hinges

Doors are adjusted so gaps and closing action look consistent.

Tip: use the product's adjustment screws only.

Test drawers

Drawer runners are checked for smooth travel after assembly.

Tip: keep each drawer within its stated load.

Match adjoining pieces

We check height consistency across connected units or bench runs.

Tip: floor settlement can change alignment over time.

Small adjustments matter.

Stability starts with the wall

Tip-Over Safety Anchoring

Tall wardrobes, shelving and chests can present a tip-over risk, especially in children's rooms and busy walkways. Anchoring is assessed against the wall material, the product instructions and your approval.

When anchoring is suitable

We discuss the unit's position and the available fixing points before work begins. Concrete, brick and drywall need different fixings, so the wall type matters.

For rented homes, obtain landlord approval before any drilling. We confirm the requested work in advance.

When we will not anchor

We will not drill if the wall is unsuitable, the correct fixing cannot be confirmed or permission has not been given. The reason will be explained clearly.

Anchoring is a practical restraint, not a guarantee against every tip-over. Follow the furniture maker's safety instructions and keep heavy items low.

Stability comes first.

Clear boundaries

What Installation Work Does Not Cover

Flat-pack assembly has a defined scope. Tell us about extra work before booking so it can be referred or quoted separately where appropriate.

Clear scope prevents delays.

  • Electrical, plumbing, gas or network connectionsThese need the relevant licensed contractor. Furniture assembly does not include service termination work.
  • Wall cutting or structural changesWe do not alter building structure or cut furniture panels to make a product fit.
  • Built-in removal or major demolitionExisting built-ins and demolition require a separate specialist scope.
  • Moving furniture between addressesTransport is excluded unless it has been agreed and quoted separately.
